GA industries Figure 993-D Vacuum Breaking and Air Release Valves are specially designed for use with sewage and other solids bearing fluids.  They consist of a large orifice vacuum breaking valve and a small orifice air release valves factory assembled and tested as a unit.  

The large orifice valve opens to rapidly admit air into the pipeline or system during negative pressure conditions such as column separation to limit the vacuum and then closes when the pressure recovers to atmospheric.  The air is then slowly released through the small orifice as the system re-pressurizes to minimize the consequences of column rejoining.

The valve is standard 3” to 8” sizes with Class 125 flanged connection.  Larger sizes and higher pressures are available.

  • Seats: Buna-N Rubber
  • Shaft: Type 303 Stainless Steel
  • Cover Fasteners: Zinc Plated Steel
  • Standard: Uncoated internal, external coated with enamel primer, minimum 2 mil DFT
  • Optional: 316 SS external fasteners and internal and external NSF-61 certified 2-part epoxy, minimum 6 mil DFT
