The city of Jaipur is the capital of the Indian state of Rajasthan in the north-west of India.
Via a 106 km long supply pipeline, the Bisalpur-Jaipur water supply project delivers water from the Bisalpur dam to Jaipur. The target of the project is to supply 5.3 million people with drinking water without having to draw on the area’s ground water resources. The planning concept consists of several phases to meet Jaipur’s rising demand for water and to reduce the extraction of ground water to a sustainable level. Gradually, the daily total output capacity is to be increased from 400,000 m³ to over 1,000,000 m³ of drinking water.
Besides a large number of butterfly valves and air valves, a total of 58 VAG plunger valves were installed in the over 100 km long pipeline to control the water flow rat.
