VAG meets new KTW-BWGL Elastomer Guideline requirements

The transition period for implementing the German KTW-BWGL Elastomer Guideline officially expired on July 1, 2026. As of that date, all plastics and organic materials which come in contact with drinking water must comply with the new legal requirements.

To meet these requirements on time, VAG began transitioning the elastomer materials used in drinking water applications back in 2025. Inventory levels of drinking water products intended for the German market were adjusted accordingly and converted to meet the new requirements.

The transition of our products intended for the German drinking water market to the new elastomer materials is now fully complete. In addition to the required hygiene tests, all relevant mechanical tests on the affected valves were also successfully conducted.
