Nearly 40 million people visit the famous Tirumala Temple every year. The temple is located in the hill town of Tirumala in Andhra Pradesh, which is one of India’s 29 states and situated on the southeastern coast of
the country.
In order to provide water to millions of pilgrims, it is necessary to supply water to the temple complex through a water distribution line coming from Tirupati, the town located closest to the temple. Since there was a rising requirement of water, a project was started to control the water flow and pressure ratings, which was necessary due to the difference in elevation between the temple hill and the town.
And so VAG was involved to replace the old gate valves with three new VAG DURA Control Valves at appropriate intervals in the water pipeline. Now the pressure has been effectively reduced from 7 bar to 2 bar and the valves work satisfactorily.
